Dear Parents,
Welcome to Mrs. Guthrie’s Class! I am very
excited about working with you to make this the best year possible for your
child! This will be a very important year in which your child will
become a much more independent learner and I hope that you will take time
at home to discuss with your child what they are learning each day. By
working together and staying informed, your child is sure to experience
success this year. I have listed below a few things that are important for you
to know, in order for us to get off to a great start.
Supplies
Your child will need to bring the following items within the first days of school.
1. Wide ruled notebook paper
2. Several #2 pencils (no mechanical
pencils)
3. A box of crayons (24 count or less)
4. Box of Kleenex
5. A package of glue
sticks
6. Snacks for the first two
weeks of school
7. A change of clothes
8. Two pocket folders
9. A pair of student scissors
10. Hand Sanitizer
Absences//Tardies
If your child is absent, you must send a written note stating the reason for the absence.
Without a note the absence will be considered unexcused.
Transportation
At the beginning of the year, I will inquire with you and your child as to the
regular method of transportation that your child will be using to get home each
day. If you intend for your student to go home in a different way that
normal, I MUSThave a written note signed by you,
the parent/guardian. If the school is unable to verify transportation with
you, we will be required to send your child home the regular way.
Community Based Instruction
The students in this
class will be going out on community based instruction. The purpose of
this program is to provide students with the opportunity to explore and
utilize resources within the community. You will be asked to sign a
permission form yearly for this program. Every week I will post the
destination of our class outing.
